Hosting Questions

Where are your mining facilities located?

Our facilities are located in Iowa with our headquarters in Cedar Falls.

Does Simple Mining own and operate their own sites or are you the middleman?

We currently own and operate several mining sites with more than 20,000 miners hosted.

Do you have load shedding?

We do load shed but overall it is minimal compared to warmer climates like Texas. We will notify clients of any major outages due to load shedding or anything else. You can view the status of each of our facilities by clicking here (opens in a new tab).

What is your average uptime?

We currently have an average uptime since our inception of over 98% across our sites.

Can I overclock/underclock my miners?

We are currently looking into solutions to be able to offer overclocking firmware to clients.

What type of cooling does Simple Mining use?

We have hydro-cooled and air cooled sites.

Do you accept outside miners?

No, we currently only host miners sold through our company.

What energy source does Simple Mining use?

All of our facilities are on grid. Our main source of energy is wind. Iowa generates the most wind energy of any state in the US from a percentage standpoint.

Can I visit the facility?

Yes, we do in-person and virtual site tours.

Is this cloud mining?

This is not cloud mining. All clients own their miners outright. Simple Mining provides all serial numbers of miners to clients. If you would like to take custody of your machines, we can ship them to you.

Do you support miners for cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin?

No. We are Bitcoin-only. We focus exclusively on mining Bitcoin—the most secure, decentralized, and proven digital asset. This specialization allows us to optimize infrastructure, support, and performance around a single mission.

Do you allow after-market firmware?

No, we do not permit any aftermarket firmware on hosted machines. This policy ensures operational stability, consistent performance, and the highest level of security across our infrastructure. Custom firmware often introduces risks related to power usage, monitoring incompatibilities, and hardware warranties, which can compromise the integrity of the hosting environment.

What is the lifespan of the different mining equipment for sale?

Lifespan on equipment varies on a few factors such as the price of Bitcoin and the difficulty of mining Bitcoin. It is difficult to predict how long a miner will be profitable due to all the volatile variables. From a repair perspective, miners can last for years. If they do have issues then we can repair them to get them up and running.

Do I need technical experience to start mining with Simple Mining?

No, in fact, Simple Mining’s premium whiteglove service can help you start mining in 4 easy steps.. We handle all maintenance, repairs, configuration, etc. Our clients pay a monthly hosting bill, and we handle the rest.
